RBI Museum Kolkata


The RBI museum of Kolkata is one of a kind museum in Kolkata and it basically explains the role of money in the economy in a realistic and funny way. You can also see how money has evolved over the years and you will also feel why gold still holds a premium place in our society. The Museum also features a 7 ft. ‘Yap’ Stone, an interactive exhibit on gold mining, a 12 ft. high sculpture, and much more.

Basically, the RBI museum of Kolkata aims for the documentation and preservation of the heritage . The Museum proposes to put in place permanent, temporary, and itinerant exhibits of the representative coinage of India, paper currency, gold bars as well as financial instruments and curiosities down the ages.

Visiting Hours:-Tuesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding national holidays (26th January, 15th August, and 2nd October.

Charges:- No Charges applicable. (you can just walk through the museum or you can also pre-book your visit)
